Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Operational Preparedness, Tech Infusion in Bhuj and Creek Sector
Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander, Southern Command, visited Bhuj Military Station to review the operational preparedness of the Bald Eagle Brigade and assess the formation’s ongoing efforts in capability development and technology infusion.
The visit took him beyond the military station and into the forward areas of the Rann and Creek Sector, where he examined troop preparedness in one of the Army’s most demanding operational environments. The terrain in this region is marked by distinctive geographical challenges, and the Army Commander used the visit to study sector dynamics, infrastructure development and the measures being taken to strengthen overall operational capability.

Lt Gen Pushkar also reviewed critical marine infrastructure and specialised equipment that support operations in the Creek Sector. The assessment covered how formations and units are configured to respond to operational requirements across both the difficult land terrain and the maritime environment that define the area.
According to the briefing received during the visit, the formation is undertaking a range of capability development initiatives while integrating modern technologies into both operational and training practices. The Army’s push for technology infusion is aimed at improving situational awareness, mobility and operational effectiveness in a sector where conditions can change quickly and flexibility remains essential.

During his interaction with troops, the Army Commander appreciated the professionalism displayed by personnel of the Bald Eagle Brigade, along with the realistic standards of training being maintained by the formation. He also acknowledged the commitment shown by the troops in carrying out their duties in a demanding operational setting.
Lt Gen Pushkar further commended the brigade for its effective absorption of technology and the high level of readiness it has maintained. He stressed the need for agility and adaptability as the Army prepares for emerging security challenges.
He underlined that sustained training, innovation and continuous capability development would remain central to future readiness, particularly in environments shaped by difficult terrain and evolving threats.

The visit, in effect, reflected Southern Command’s continuing emphasis on strengthening operational preparedness, expanding the role of emerging technologies and ensuring that troops remain agile, adaptable and mission-ready across the region.
