Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Agniveer Training, Drone Tech and Readiness in Bengaluru
Southern Command Army Commander Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, reviewed a series of military and industry establishments in Bengaluru on a visit focused on operational readiness, training, logistics, welfare and the growing role of technology in strengthening the Army’s capabilities. The tour included Headquarters Karnataka & Kerala Sub Area (KKSA), the Army Service Corps (ASC) Centre & College, 515 Army Base Workshop and NewSpace Research & Technologies.
At Headquarters KKSA, Lt Gen Pushkar assessed the formation’s operational and administrative preparedness and was briefed on welfare measures for veterans and Veer Naris. He appreciated the formation’s sustained efforts to maintain a high level of readiness while continuing to support the wider military community.
The Army Commander then visited the ASC Centre & College, where he reviewed ongoing training initiatives and infrastructure upgrades intended to deliver holistic Basic Military Training to Agniveers. He also examined how modern technology is being incorporated into training methods and commended the institution for maintaining high standards.
Addressing personnel during the visit, Lt Gen Pushkar urged all ranks to continue working towards professional excellence and to remain mission-ready as security challenges evolve.
Technology and indigenous defence capability were also central to the Bengaluru engagements. At 515 Army Base Workshop, Lt Gen Pushkar reviewed projects involving 3D printing, additive manufacturing and drone manufacturing. He praised the workshop’s contribution to indigenisation, innovation and sustainment support for the Indian Army.
He later visited NewSpace Research & Technologies in Bengaluru, where he saw demonstrations of advanced drone and counter-drone systems currently under development. The Army Commander appreciated the organisation’s role in strengthening indigenous defence capabilities and advancing Atmanirbharta in critical military technologies.
The visit reflected Southern Command’s continuing emphasis on operational preparedness, modernised training, technology infusion, indigenous innovation and capability enhancement as the Indian Army adapts to emerging operational and security requirements.
