Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan Evaluates Recovery Efforts on Lachen Axis in Sikkim
Lieutenant General Raghu Srinivasan, the Director General of Border Roads (DGBR), conducted an inspection of Project Swastik on Tuesday to evaluate the ongoing efforts to restore the Lachen axis. This area was significantly damaged by a cloudburst in June 2025.

During his visit, the DGBR reviewed the situation at the Taram Chu Bridge site. A Bailey Suspension Bridge is being prepared for deployment there, which is expected to reestablish critical connectivity essential for the movement of civilians and military logistics.

The DGBR also engaged in discussions with the General Officer Commanding of the 33 Corps and the Commander of the Chaten Brigade. These discussions focused on enhancing operational collaboration and the advancement of significant border infrastructure projects in the area.

Subsequently, he met with the Chief Secretary of Sikkim, reaffirming the Border Roads Organization's (BRO) dedication to assisting the state and expressing appreciation for the government’s ongoing support and assistance.
