Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh Reviews Kharga Corps and Delhi Area Operational Readiness

Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, AVSM, SM**, Army Commander of the Western Command, has reviewed the operational preparedness of the Deep Strikers of Kharga Corps, placing particular emphasis on jointness, technological innovation and precision capabilities for the future battlefield.

During the review, Lt Gen Singh commended the formation for maintaining a high level of operational readiness and for developing seamless synergy with the Indian Air Force. He also appreciated the induction of niche technologies and innovative solutions that have been designed to deal with emerging battlefield challenges.

The focus of the review was on strengthening multi-domain capabilities through improved situational awareness and deep precision engagement. According to the review, these measures are intended to help formations operate effectively in an increasingly complex and technology-driven operational environment.

Lt Gen Singh also witnessed a display of innovations that featured field-optimised solutions developed to improve battlefield effectiveness. He urged personnel to remain agile and to continuously adapt to changing operational and technological paradigms.

In a separate engagement, the Western Army Commander visited Headquarters Delhi Area, where he reviewed key operational, security and capability-enhancement initiatives. The visit was part of his broader assessment of formations and establishments under the Western Command.

The review at Headquarters Delhi Area centred on the optimal utilisation of resources, strengthening of infrastructure, acceleration of development projects and timely provisioning, all of which were identified as important to improving operational preparedness.

Modernisation, training excellence and enhanced station security were also among the principal areas highlighted during the visit. These priorities reflect the Army’s continuing effort to develop formations that can respond effectively to future operational requirements.

Taken together, the visits reflected Western Command’s continuing focus on jointness, innovation, modernisation and mission-oriented preparedness as the Indian Army works to build formations that are agile, resilient and ready for future operations.
