Lt Gen Pratik Sharma Inspects Anti-Infiltration Defense Systems in North Kashmir
Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander of the Northern Command, conducted an inspection in North Kashmir to evaluate the effectiveness of the anti-infiltration grid and check the operational preparedness of frontline units stationed along the Line of Control (LoC).
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma visited forward positions and key sectors, receiving briefings on the current security dynamics, deployment strategies, and ongoing efforts to prevent infiltration in the challenging terrain and severe weather of North Kashmir.
Senior commanders provided comprehensive updates on advanced surveillance technologies and next-generation systems deployed to boost border security. These included state-of-the-art electro-optical devices, high-resolution sensors, counter-infiltration grids, UAV-based surveillance, and real-time communication networks that enhance situational awareness significantly.
Lt Gen Pratik Sharma commended the troops for their exceptional professionalism, operational discipline, high combat readiness, and steadfast vigilance in addressing evolving threats along the LoC.
He acknowledged their resilience and dedication, noting that their unwavering commitment is crucial to maintaining the sanctity of India’s frontiers despite operating in extremely challenging conditions.
The Army Commander reaffirmed that the Northern Command is fully prepared to counter infiltration, sustain operational superiority, and effectively respond to any security challenges.
He stressed that the integration of modern technology, intelligence from the ground, and innovative battlefield strategies continues to enhance the Army’s capability to protect the nation’s borders with accuracy and foresight.
