Lt Gen Pratik Sharma Evaluates Operational Readiness and Drone Systems in Poonch and Sunderbani

Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, who holds the position of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, conducted a visit to forward areas in the Poonch and Sunderbani sectors. The purpose of his visit was to evaluate operational preparedness and analyze the current security dynamics along the Line of Control (LoC).

During this visit, Lt Gen Sharma engaged with troops stationed in High Altitude Areas, acknowledging their steadfast commitment and professionalism in maintaining a state of readiness despite the challenging environment.

A significant aspect of Lt Gen Sharma’s visit included his meeting with the newly established ASHNI Platoon. He assessed the latest advancements in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) that are being utilized to enhance surveillance and precision strike capabilities.

He praised the troops for their exemplary standards of operational preparedness, increased situational awareness, and the integration of technology-driven warfare systems. The Army Commander also commended the formations for their strong surveillance networks, quick response abilities, and combat readiness in addressing emerging threats.

Reaffirming the Northern Command’s dedication to safeguarding the nation’s borders, Lt Gen Sharma emphasized the necessity of continual innovation and technological adaptation in preparing for future warfare scenarios.
