Lt Gen Pratik Sharma Assesses Army Aviation Readiness in Kashmir, Honors Units with Safety Awards
Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the Army Commander of Northern Command, recently assessed the operational capabilities of Army Aviation Squadrons stationed in the Kashmir Valley. His visit was aimed at evaluating their readiness and their contributions to ongoing military operations in the region.

Throughout the visit, Lt Gen Sharma engaged with the aviation personnel, reviewing the vital role these units play in supporting active military formations. Army Aviation Squadrons serve as an essential support system for ground troops, facilitating rapid responses in emergency situations and providing necessary logistical support to soldiers stationed in remote and difficult-to-reach areas across the Valley.

The Army Commander recognized the significant contributions of Army Aviation in areas such as casualty evacuation, surveillance, troop transport, and the delivery of essential supplies, all carried out under demanding terrain and weather conditions. He praised the personnel for their professionalism, precision in flying, and steadfast dedication to achieving mission objectives.

During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma presented the Northern Command Annual Flight Safety Trophy to two leading Army Aviation Squadrons. This accolade is awarded in recognition of their outstanding safety standards, operational discipline, and commitment to maintaining high levels of aviation safety while undertaking challenging missions.
The visit underscored Northern Command’s focus on operational excellence and aviation safety, highlighting the critical role that Army Aviation plays in boosting the mobility, responsiveness, and combat effectiveness of formations deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.
