Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney Inaugurates Advanced Drone and Robotics Facilities at MCEME, Secunderabad

On October 15, 2025, the 83rd EME Corps Day was observed with solemnity and respect as Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, VSM, who serves as the Commandant of MCEME and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, paid tribute to the courageous Bravehearts and technicians who sacrificed their lives for the nation. A wreath-laying ceremony was conducted at the EME War Memorial to honor those who dedicated themselves to national service.

In a subsequent address at a Sainik Sammelan, Lt Gen Varshney praised the personnel and civilian staff of MCEME for their professionalism, dedication, and technical prowess. He acknowledged the Corps' significant role in maintaining the Indian Army’s operational capacity, especially during Operation Sindoor, highlighting their resilience and innovation under challenging conditions.

During the celebrations, outstanding performers were recognized for their exceptional contributions, and various faculties received trophies and championship banners as a testament to their excellence.

Lieutenant General Varshney marked the occasion by inaugurating two state-of-the-art training facilities at the Faculty of Electronics, MCEME. The Dronalaya, focusing on Drone Technologies, and Yantralaya, dedicated to Unmanned Systems and Robotics, were unveiled.

These new facilities are anticipated to greatly boost the Indian Army's capabilities by utilizing emerging technologies, enhancing both the training infrastructure under ARTRAC and the technical skills of EME technicians to ensure mission readiness.
