Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla Reviews Readiness, Troop Welfare During Tawang Visit

Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Gajraj Corps, visited troops deployed in the forward areas of Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh and held an interaction with officers and soldiers serving in the region.

During the visit, the Corps Commander reviewed the overall preparedness and training standards of the personnel deployed in the difficult forward areas. He praised the troops for sustaining high levels of morale, motivation and professionalism while carrying out their duties in demanding operational conditions.

Lt Gen Shukla’s interaction with all ranks also focused on the role of modern technology in strengthening military capability. He appreciated the contribution of officers and soldiers towards capability development and transformation through the induction and effective use of new technologies.

Emphasising the need to keep pace with changing battlefield requirements, the GOC said personnel must continuously adapt to emerging technologies and build operational capabilities that match evolving challenges. The Corps Commander also drew attention to the mental well-being of troops, saying psychological resilience and a healthy state of mind are essential to combat effectiveness. He encouraged soldiers to maintain a balanced approach to both their professional responsibilities and personal well-being.

Physical fitness was another key area of emphasis during the interaction. Lt Gen Shukla asked personnel to maintain high standards of physical conditioning and preserve the discipline needed to operate effectively in challenging terrain and under demanding operational conditions.

He further highlighted the need for responsible use of social media and greater cyber awareness. Stressing the risks associated with digital platforms, he urged troops to remain alert to cyber threats, exercise caution online and comply with established security protocols to protect sensitive information.

The discussion also covered the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, with the leadership reinforcing the need to safeguard the overall welfare and well-being of personnel serving in forward locations.
