Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva Evaluates Operational Readiness and Community Projects in Kumaon Sector

Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, serving as the Chief of Staff of Surya Command, recently conducted a visit to forward positions in the Kumaon Sector. The purpose of his visit was to supervise the validations of Operation Kavach, assess the readiness for operations, and review the integration of Next-Generation Equipment designed to boost the combat capabilities of troops stationed in the challenging terrain of the high Himalayas.

During his visit, Lt Gen Sachdeva engaged with the soldiers, praising their bravery, innovative spirit, and superior operational performance. He reiterated the Indian Army’s core value of “Service Before Self,” recognizing the dedication and sacrifices of the personnel.

The Chief of Staff also evaluated the ongoing initiatives under Operation Sadbhavna. These initiatives are concentrated on improving the sectors of education, healthcare, and the development of sustainable tourism in the border regions. They are designed to empower the local communities, simultaneously ensuring the conservation of the area’s spiritual and natural heritage, while enhancing security and fostering socio-economic development in this strategically vital area.
