Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar Conducts Comprehensive Review of Kalka Military Station Readiness

Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, AVSM, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army's Western Command, carried out an extensive evaluation of the operational and logistical readiness at Kalka Military Station today. This inspection underscores the Army's ongoing efforts to enhance its capabilities in response to changing regional security dynamics along the western front.

During the visit, Lt Gen Katiyar praised the significant role of logistic units in the mobilization of personnel, ammunition, and equipment during Operation Sindoor. This operation, executed by Indian forces in May 2025 to target terrorist infrastructure across the border, is recognized for its tactical and strategic success, demonstrating India's rapid response capabilities.

Lt Gen Katiyar assumed the position of Western Army Commander in July 2023, following his distinguished leadership of the Strike Corps from April 2021 to April 2022. Renowned for his operational expertise, he has continued to advance the Western Command's preparedness and modernization initiatives.

The review conducted at Kalka reinforced the Indian Army's dedication to maintaining high readiness levels, operational excellence, and inclusive leadership, which are essential for ensuring national security in a rapidly changing strategic landscape.
