Lt Gen Harpal Singh Assesses Border Infrastructure and Troop Readiness in Kumaon Sector

Lieutenant General Harpal Singh, AVSM, VSM, who serves as the Director General of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), recently conducted a visit to forward areas in the Kumaon sector. The purpose of his visit was to assess essential border infrastructure and evaluate operational readiness.

During his inspection, Lt Gen Harpal Singh reviewed both ongoing and completed infrastructure projects along India's northern borders. These projects are crucial for maintaining connectivity, enhancing mobility, and ensuring the rapid deployment of forces in high-altitude regions.

In addition to reviewing infrastructure, Lt Gen Singh interacted with the Panchshul Warriors, a unit stationed in harsh weather conditions and difficult terrain. He commended their resilience, courage, and constant vigilance in protecting the nation.

The visit emphasized leadership presence at the frontline, particularly in areas characterized by low oxygen levels and challenging climates, which serves to boost troop morale among those stationed in remote and demanding locations.

This visit highlights the critical role of strong infrastructure and high-altitude operational readiness in maintaining effectiveness in strategically important border regions.

Lt Gen Harpal Singh’s visit demonstrates the Armed Forces’ ongoing dedication to enhancing border security, developing infrastructure, and motivating troops despite the challenges presented by the terrain.
