Lt Gen Harbinder Singh Vandra Evaluates Readiness of Key Army Units

Lt Gen Harbinder Singh Vandra, serving as Chief of Staff for the Sapta Shakti Command, conducted an extensive review on Wednesday of the operational readiness of the specialized units “StrikeHawks” and “ThunderStrikers.” This review highlights the Army’s strategic emphasis on maintaining agility, adaptability, and preparedness in a constantly evolving security landscape.

During his visit to this strategically important region, Lt Gen Vandra engaged directly with the troops, closely scrutinized the training protocols, and assessed human resource development strategies. His interactions with personnel across all ranks were intended to boost morale and reinforce a strong commitment to their duties. The review also focused on advancements in operational tactics and the integration of new technologies, reflecting the Army's wider commitment to indigenous innovation, supported by collaborations with over 1,700 industries and 200 academic institutions.

This assessment coincides with the defense sector's current push for self-reliance, which includes prioritizing emergency procurements of domestically produced equipment. The Army Design Bureau has significantly contributed to these initiatives, backing more than 30 startups in fields such as artificial intelligence and robotics.

Officials emphasized that leadership engagement and technological integration are crucial to enhancing combat readiness along sensitive borders like the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and Line of Control (LoC). Lt Gen Vandra’s recognition of the units' dedication is perceived as a strong indication of the Army's readiness to tackle future operational challenges.
