Lt Gen Harbinder Singh Vandra Evaluates Operational Preparedness and Veteran Support in Prayagraj

Lieutenant General Harbinder Singh Vandra, the General Officer Commanding of the Madhya Bharat Area, recently visited the Headquarters Purva Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh Sub Area in Prayagraj. The purpose of the visit was to assess the operational preparedness and review ongoing initiatives.

During his visit, Lt Gen Vandra was briefed on significant developments, including the readiness for operations, the preparation for the North Tech Symposium (NTS), and various veteran outreach and welfare programs. Additionally, upcoming infrastructure development projects were also discussed.

The General Officer Commanding conducted a thorough review of the operational preparedness at both the Ordnance Depot Prayagraj and the 508 Army Base Workshop Cheoki. He emphasized the crucial role of logistics and maintenance support in the sustenance of military operations.

Furthermore, he inspected the ECHS Polyclinic and the Defence Pension Contact Centre (DPCC). During this inspection, he interacted with Kanwaljeet Singh, the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), to evaluate the services related to pensions and the mechanisms for addressing grievances.

Lt Gen Vandra took the opportunity to engage with veterans during his visit, acknowledging their ongoing contributions to nation-building. He reiterated the Indian Army’s dedication to providing substantial support to veterans, Veer Naris, and their families through improved welfare and outreach initiatives.

The visit highlighted the Army’s commitment to maintaining both operational readiness and the welfare of veterans, ensuring that both frontline preparedness and support for the armed forces community remain a priority.
