Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Overviews Final Phase of Exercise Trishul at Madhavpur Beach
The Indian Armed Forces recently conducted a large-scale demonstration of their integrated amphibious warfare capabilities at Madhavpur Beach, showcasing seamless cooperation across different military domains. Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, who commands the Southern Command, reviewed the final phase of Exercise Trishul. This exercise included synchronized operations involving land, air, and maritime components.
Exercise Trishul took place across various operational areas like the Western Seaboard, Desert Sector, and the Rann & Creek Sector. As one of India's key annual multi-domain maneuvers, this year's exercise was notable for its exceptional coordination among the three military services, underscoring unified combat power through meticulous planning and real-time tactical integration.
Amphibious Operations and High-Level Review
During the exercise, Lt Gen Seth boarded the amphibious warfare ship INS Jalashwa alongside Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, who commands the Western Naval Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, head of the South Western Air Command. Together, they evaluated the operational readiness and interoperability of the Amphibious Forces.

A notable aspect of the drill was the deployment of the first Infantry Platoon alongside a tank using Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM) during the initial wave of beaching operations. This coordinated maneuver demonstrated the forces' ability to project combat power from sea to land, reflecting precision and situational awareness enhanced by integrated air and maritime support.
Demonstration of Joint Combat Power
The Amphibious Landing Operations exemplified the seamless coordination between the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, validating their preparedness for complex joint missions. From naval and landing craft operations to aerial support, surveillance, and ground elements, the exercise affirmed the Armed Forces' cohesive response capability in multi-domain environments.

Lt Gen Seth expressed appreciation for the professionalism and operational excellence exhibited by the soldiers, sailors, and air warriors. He acknowledged the high standards of jointmanship, technological integration, and combat readiness displayed throughout the exercise.
Strengthening Self-Reliance and Multi-Domain Capabilities
The successful execution of Exercise Trishul highlights India's growing multi-domain and multi-spectrum capabilities, in alignment with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defense.
