Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Leads Southern Command Investiture Ceremony 2026, Honouring Gallantry and Service in Ahmedabad
During the Southern Command Investiture Ceremony 2026 in Ahmedabad, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, presented awards to 34 individuals recognized for their acts of valor, courage, and distinguished service. Additionally, 33 units received the "GOC-in-C, Southern Command Unit Citation" for their operational excellence, professional achievements, and exceptional performance.
In his speech, the Army Commander emphasized that the investiture ceremony celebrates exceptional bravery, unwavering professionalism, and selfless service to the nation. He highlighted that the event draws inspiration from the sacrifices of fallen heroes and the lasting influence of veterans who inspire future soldiers.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth also pointed out the high level of operational readiness within the Southern Command, noting its strong joint operations and multi-domain capabilities, as demonstrated in recent missions and major training exercises. He committed to maintaining the focus on enhancing operational preparedness, advancing technological upgrades, and improving inter-agency cooperation for a more cohesive and resilient security structure.

The event was attended by senior military and civilian dignitaries, defense officials, veterans, Veer Naris, and Veer Matas.
