Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Assesses Operational Readiness of Sudarshan Chakra Corps and Shahbaaz Division in Exercise MaruJwala
Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, assessed the operational readiness of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps and Shahbaaz Division during Exercise MaruJwala. This exercise is taking place in the expansive Thar Desert as part of the Tri-Service framework of Exercise Trishul.
The event was designed to validate new Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), highlighting advanced combat adaptability through the use of locally developed drones, counter-drone systems, and cutting-edge military equipment. The exercise tested joint coordination and swift decision-making in changing battlefield conditions, supporting India's goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat in defense technology.
Simulating realistic desert combat scenarios, the exercise involved combined arms manoeuvres that brought together mechanised and infantry units, with support from the aviation assets of Thar Raptors and the Indian Air Force. The training focused on multi-domain operations, including air-ground collaboration, precision targeting, and electronic warfare coordination, thereby improving inter-service collaboration.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth took the opportunity to engage with the troops involved, praising the members of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, Shahbaaz Division, and other units from the Southern Command, Airborne Forces, and the Indian Air Force. He commended their professionalism, agility, and operational excellence, noting these as key characteristics of a Future-Ready Force.

The Army Commander emphasized that agility, adaptability, and innovation are fundamental to modern military transformation, ensuring preparedness to face future challenges on various battlefronts. Exercise MaruJwala, as part of Exercise Trishul, serves as a significant demonstration of the Indian Armed Forces' dedication to joint operations, technological advancement, and self-reliance in reinforcing national security.
