Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Assesses Operational Readiness and Logistics at Jodhpur Sub Area

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, conducted a visit to the Jodhpur Sub Area to evaluate the operational readiness and ongoing preparedness efforts there.

Throughout his visit, the Army Commander reviewed the logistics, ammunition management, and sustainment practices that support the formation’s diverse operational commitments. He expressed admiration for the outstanding performance shown during Operation SINDOOR, particularly in the effective management of ammunition and logistics through structures such as Ammunition Echelons, the Field Ammunition Depot (FAD), Supply Depots, and the Advanced Base Ordnance Depot (ABOD).

Lt Gen Seth commended the formation’s streamlined logistics and administrative procedures, emphasizing that strong sustainment systems are vital for combat efficiency. He also lauded the high level of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) preparedness, highlighting the initiatives coordinated with central and state agencies as a prime example of successful military-civil cooperation yielding concrete results.

The Army Commander praised the efforts to enhance the Soldier–Citizen connection through veterans’ outreach programs and the rapid implementation of key infrastructure projects. He stressed that such initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening public trust, boosting morale, and contributing significantly to nation-building alongside core military objectives.

The visit reinforced the Southern Command's focus on operational preparedness, robust logistics, civil-military collaboration, and initiatives centered around people—ensuring the formations are ready to address both security challenges and humanitarian duties.
