Lt Gen Devendra Sharma Evaluates Training and Modernisation at Ahilyanagar's Armoured Corps Centre & School

Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, who is the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), made an official visit to the Armoured Corps Centre & School (ACC&S), Ahilyanagar, on January 5, 2026. The purpose of his visit was to evaluate the training standards, assess infrastructure developments, and review ongoing modernisation projects.

During his time at the institution, Lt Gen Sharma received a comprehensive briefing on the training strategies, curriculum advancements, and recent improvements to infrastructure aimed at preparing armoured units for modern and future combat scenarios. He expressed his approval of the Centre and School's proactive training measures and its ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities in line with the evolving demands of military operations.

The Army Commander praised the steps being taken in modernisation and innovation, aligning them with the Indian Army's Year of Technology Absorption and the wider Decade of Transformation. He highlighted the essential role of the Armoured Corps in manoeuvre warfare and stressed the necessity of staying ahead in technological integration, covering areas such as platforms, sensors, networking, and battlefield management systems.

While interacting with officers, instructors, and faculty members, Lt Gen Sharma encouraged them to continually refine and adapt their training methods to keep pace with fast-paced technological advancements. He underscored the importance of integrating lessons from recent conflicts, fostering innovation, and nurturing a culture of experimentation to maintain the operational readiness of armoured leaders and crews.

Lt Gen Sharma emphasized that future battlefields will require agility, speed, precision, and effective integration with other arms and services. He expressed confidence in the Armoured Corps Centre & School's professional excellence and adaptive training approach, believing it will continue to develop an agile, innovative, and future-ready Armoured Corps capable of addressing emerging security challenges.
