Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta Reviews Central Command's Readiness and Veteran Welfare on New Year Visit
To mark the New Year, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, toured several formations to meet with troops. He extended New Year greetings while reaffirming the Indian Army's dedication to operational preparedness, morale, and the welfare of its soldiers.
During his engagements, Lt Gen Sengupta commended the troops for their professional conduct, dedication, and alertness. He encouraged them to sustain high levels of readiness, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the ethos and values central to the Indian Army.

As part of his visit, Lt Gen Sengupta inaugurated new facilities for veterans, including a Veteran Lounge. This move reinforced the Army's lasting connection with veterans and their families. He stressed that supporting veterans is a fundamental duty and a key component of the Army's values.

In reviewing the operational preparedness of the Paschim Uttar Pradesh Sub Area (PUPSA) Headquarters, the Army Commander was briefed on various aspects such as security measures, administrative efficiency, and readiness levels.
He also visited the Base Workshop Group EME Headquarters in Meerut to observe indigenisation and modernisation efforts. These initiatives focused on developing and deploying dual-use equipment and drone systems, in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the Indian Army’s transformation goals.

Lt Gen Sengupta praised the EME personnel for their integration of indigenous technology and innovative solutions aimed at enhancing operational capabilities and sustainability. He pointed out that such efforts are vital for creating a future-ready, self-reliant force capable of addressing emerging challenges.
The visit highlighted Central Command's priorities in readiness, welfare, veteran support, and technological advancement, embodying the Indian Army's comprehensive approach to operational excellence.
