Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta Inspects Training Excellence at Indian Military Academy
Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, recently visited the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. His visit underscored the Army's ongoing commitment to enhancing officer training and professional military education at this esteemed institution.
During his time at the academy, Lt Gen Sengupta engaged with the training staff, including senior instructors, company commanders, and faculty members who play a pivotal role in developing future Army officers. He praised their exceptional dedication, professionalism, and the high standards maintained in training the Gentlemen Cadets.

The Army Commander also evaluated key instructional facilities at the academy. This included observing demonstrations of drill and physical training modules, as well as tactical training setups and modern simulation-based learning tools designed to enhance operational readiness. He acknowledged the academy’s efforts to incorporate evolving military technologies and realistic battlefield scenarios into their curriculum.

Lt Gen Sengupta commended the high standards of discipline, physical fitness, and military ethos that are the hallmark of the IMA’s tradition. He highlighted that the academy is a vital component of the Indian Army's leadership development, consistently producing officers capable of leading in varied operational contexts.

This visit occurred shortly before the Passing Out Parade for the Autumn Term 2025, adding significance as the Gentlemen Cadets approach commissioning. Lt Gen Sengupta's interactions and insights served as a morale enhancer for the staff and cadets, emphasizing the importance of excellence in military training.
