Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, addressed the media at the North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, emphasizing the critical role of innovation and partnership in enhancing India's defense capabilities.
This symposium was a collaborative effort between the Central and Northern Commands of the Indian Army and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM). It presented an array of indigenous defense technologies and solutions designed to boost operational efficiency.

Lt Gen Sengupta noted that the theme “Raksha Triveni Sangam: Technology, Industry & Soldiering” embodies the integration of innovation, industrial capability, and military needs. He stated that the symposium offers a unique platform for the Armed Forces, industry partners, startups, innovators, and academic institutions to come together and devise field-oriented solutions to evolving operational challenges.
The Army Commander particularly highlighted the Middle Sector, stressing the requirement for dependable and durable systems that can function in high-altitude regions and under harsh weather conditions. He mentioned the necessity for items such as specialized clothing, advanced mobility solutions, habitat support, and strong logistics systems to maintain operations in remote and connectivity-limited areas.

Lt Gen Sengupta also commended the efforts of SIDM, Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), government agencies, and industry stakeholders for ensuring the symposium was both productive and impactful.
The event underscores the Indian Army's dedication to promoting self-reliance, advancing innovation, and building a military force prepared to tackle future security challenges.
