Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar Assesses Operational Readiness and Honours Fallen Hero at Masimpur Military Station
Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, the General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps, recently conducted a visit to Masimpur Military Station located in Silchar, Assam. The purpose of his visit was to assess the operational readiness and security measures of the military formation stationed there.
During his assessment, Lieutenant General Pendharkar received detailed briefings regarding the current state of operational preparedness and the security protocols in place. He took the opportunity to commend the personnel for their professionalism, commitment, and high morale in maintaining the security of the region.

As a significant part of his visit, Lt Gen Pendharkar unveiled a bust of Second Lieutenant Rajeev Sandhu at the Rajeev Sandhu Auditorium. This act paid homage to the young officer's extraordinary bravery and ultimate sacrifice.
Second Lieutenant Rajeev Sandhu lost his life on 19 July 1988 while engaging with the LTTE during Operation Pawan in Sri Lanka. This operation was part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force's initiatives undertaken by the Indian Army.

The unveiling ceremony celebrated the legacy of the valiant officer and underscored the courage and sacrifices of Indian soldiers who have dutifully served the nation in demanding operational settings.
