Lt Abhay Pratap Singh Meets Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow After OTA Gaya Commissioning
Newly commissioned Indian Army officer Lieutenant Abhay Pratap Singh met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on 10 September 2026, days after completing his military training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya. The courtesy call came soon after his commissioning into the Army, and photographs shared by the Chief Minister’s office showed the young officer in uniform being welcomed and presented with a bouquet.
Lt Abhay was accompanied by his father, Bhishma Pal Singh, and his mother during the meeting. For the family, the interaction with the Chief Minister marked a proud moment as the officer formally began his career in uniform.
Commissioned After Training At OTA Gaya
Lt Abhay Pratap Singh recently passed out from OTA Gaya after completing the pre-commission training required for entry into the Indian Army as an officer. His commissioning followed the latest Passing Out Parade at the academy, held on 5 September 2026.
The parade marked the conclusion of training for cadets of the SSC (Tech) Men-65 and SSC (Tech) Women-36 courses, who completed their course at the academy before receiving their commissions. Lt Abhay was among those who successfully finished the rigorous training and moved on to active service.
Joins The Corps Of Signals
After earning his commission, Lt Abhay has joined the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals, a technical arm that plays a central role in military communications. The corps is responsible for ensuring secure and reliable communication across operational settings, linking commanders, formations and troops during both peace and military operations.
His posting places him in one of the Army’s most technology-driven branches, where secure digital communications, networks and information systems are increasingly important to modern warfare. As a young Signals officer, he will be part of the Army’s communication and information infrastructure at a time when operational effectiveness depends heavily on dependable connectivity and technical support.
For Lt Abhay, the move from training at OTA Gaya to service in the Corps of Signals represents the start of a demanding professional journey in the Indian Army.

Following his commissioning, Lt Abhay travelled to Lucknow with his parents to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 10 September. The Chief Minister’s office shared photographs from the meeting, underscoring the occasion as a family moment as well as a public recognition of the officer’s achievement.
The meeting drew attention to the transition from cadet to commissioned officer, with Lt Abhay now beginning his service as an officer of the Indian Army after completing months of intensive military training. With his commission complete and his parents present at the meeting, the occasion captured a significant milestone in the family’s life and in the officer’s own career.
