Lieutenant Ravneet Kumar's Success in Indian Army Inspires His Elder Brother's Defence Ambitions

Ravneet Kumar of Koilwar Nagar Panchayat in Bihar's Bhojpur district has garnered local pride by being commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. His accomplishment has sparked celebrations throughout his village. Meanwhile, his elder brother is further motivated to continue his own preparations for defence examinations, inspired by Ravneet's success.

As the son of Jagannath Singh, the Principal Assistant at the Mental Health Institute in Koilwar, and Kiran Devi, Ravneet has consistently excelled academically. His decision to pursue a military career was largely influenced by watching his elder brother attend Sainik School, which set the groundwork for his journey in the armed forces.

Ravneet's commission was secured through the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-46), a prestigious program for Class XII science students that integrates engineering education with military training, leading to a Permanent Commission as a Lieutenant.

Ravneet's training involved multiple premier institutions. In 2022, he joined the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya. He subsequently trained at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad. On December 13, 2025, he passed out as a Lieutenant from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.

Following his commissioning, Ravneet is set to undergo another year of advanced training at MCEME before taking on full operational responsibilities.

Upon his return home, Ravneet was met with an outpouring of congratulations from family, friends, and the local community. His father expressed pride in his sons, noting Ravneet's success and his elder son's ongoing preparation for defence examinations as a source of inspiration for the entire family.

"Seeing my elder brother in Sainik School inspired me. That early motivation and disciplined training brought me here. I will now dedicate myself fully to serving the nation,” said Lt Ravneet Kumar.
