Lieutenant Gurkeerat Singh Hora Wins Sword of Honour at OTA Chennai Passing Out Parade
Lieutenant Gurkeerat Singh Hora has been awarded the Sword of Honour at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, after passing out on September 5, 2026. The distinction is one of the academy’s highest awards and is given to the officer cadet judged the best all-round performer of the course.
Hora’s selection for the honour caps a training journey that began at Daly College, Indore, and was shaped by his association with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) before he joined the Indian Army through the NCC Special Entry scheme. He secured All India Rank 45 in the selection process, cleared the Services Selection Board (SSB), and earned admission to OTA Chennai for officer training.
The Passing Out Parade at OTA Chennai on September 5 marked his formal transition from officer cadet to commissioned officer. With the symbolic crossing of the academy’s “Antim Pag”, he was commissioned as Lieutenant Gurkeerat Singh Hora of the Indian Army.
