Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwalla has officially assumed the position of Deputy Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff (DCIDS) in a significant leadership shift at the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS). He takes over from Lieutenant General Vipul Shinghal, who will now serve as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff.
Prior to this new role, Lt Gen Minwalla commanded the renowned Trishakti Corps, where he managed critical operational duties along India's strategic northern and eastern borders. His tenure at the Corps was noted for its emphasis on readiness, integration, and operational cohesion.

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC), alongside personnel from HQ IDS, extended their congratulations to Lt Gen Minwalla and Lt Gen Shinghal, offering their best wishes for the future responsibilities they will undertake.
The leadership of Lt Gen Minwalla as DCIDS is anticipated to maintain the momentum in developing joint doctrines and enhancing the integration among the three military Services. His role is seen as crucial in pushing forward India's military reforms, especially in the areas of interoperability, theatreisation, and the development of integrated capabilities.
This leadership transition occurs at a pivotal moment as the Indian Armed Forces continue to enact significant structural and doctrinal changes designed to enhance operational synergy and effectiveness among the Services.
