Lieutenant General N S Sarna, who serves as the Commandant of the School of Artillery and formerly held the position of Director General Recruiting, made a visit to Selection Centre East (SCE) in Prayagraj on May 7, 2026. The purpose of his visit was to assess the center's operations and infrastructure.

During his visit, Major General D R Rai, the Commandant of SCE, provided a comprehensive briefing on the selection procedures employed at the Services Selection Board (SSB). This included an overview of the psychological assessments, group testing, and interview processes designed for candidates aiming to become commissioned officers.

Lt Gen Sarna conducted an inspection of the newly upgraded technical and administrative facilities at the center, with a particular focus on improvements intended to enhance the candidate experience and the center's operational efficiency.

He expressed his appreciation for the upgrades made to the candidate-friendly infrastructure, recognizing them as significant contributors in reinforcing the officer selection process. These enhancements are seen as vital in ensuring a fair, transparent, and efficient evaluation system.

The visit highlighted the ongoing commitment of the Indian Army to refining its selection processes, maintaining high standards, and identifying future leaders within the military ranks.
