Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra Takes Charge as GOC-in-C of South Western Command
On July 1, 2026, Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, AVSM, SM, took over as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the South Western Command, leading the Indian Army's Sapta Shakti Command.

The transition of command was marked by a formal ceremony at the Jaipur Military Station, where the Army Commander honored the nation's fallen heroes by laying a wreath at Prerna Sthal. He also inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honour as he assumed his new responsibilities.

During his address to the ranks, Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra emphasized his dedication to enhancing the Command's operational readiness, strategic agility, and multi-domain capabilities. He urged all personnel to maintain the highest levels of professionalism, combat readiness, and dedication to the nation's security.

Lt Gen Malhotra also extended his greetings to all ranks, Veer Naris, veterans, defense civilian employees, and the families associated with Sapta Shakti Command. He reaffirmed his commitment to their welfare, motivation, and professional excellence, pledging to uphold the proud traditions and ethos of the Indian Army.
