Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma Reviews Training Initiatives at Pune's Military Intelligence Training School

Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command, visited Pune on June 4, 2026. His visit focused on evaluating the training initiatives and infrastructure enhancements at the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD).

While at MINTSD, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed by Lieutenant General Devinder Pal Singh, AVSM, SM, the Commandant of the institution. The briefing covered ongoing efforts to upgrade training methodologies, improve infrastructure, and bolster intelligence education to meet future operational needs.

Lt Gen Sharma praised the institution for its forward-thinking integration of advanced technologies, noting its essential role in providing state-of-the-art intelligence training for Indian Army officers and soldiers. He emphasized the necessity of tailoring intelligence training to face new security threats and adapting to the dynamic nature of modern warfare.

The Army Commander also acknowledged the institution's efforts in developing future-ready intelligence professionals equipped to thrive in increasingly tech-driven and multi-domain operational environments.

During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma awarded GOC-in-C Commendation Cards to select individuals, recognizing their exceptional contributions to training excellence and professional growth within the school.

In a ceremonial highlight, the Army Commander honored Intelligence Corps veterans Colonel Ripu Daman Singh (Retd) and Naib Subedar (Dr) Saravanan P (Retd) with the Veteran Achievers Medal and a Certificate of Appreciation for their ongoing dedication to veteran welfare and their continued service to the military community.

The visit underscored ARTRAC’s dedication to advancing military education, embracing technological advancements, and celebrating the achievements of both active personnel and veterans.

Officials highlighted that MINTSD remains vital in preparing intelligence professionals to tackle contemporary and future battlefield challenges while promoting a culture of innovation, professionalism, and operational excellence within the Indian Army.
