Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta Assesses India-Nepal Joint Military Exercise at Pithoragarh
Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, took a trip to the Foreign Training Node (FTN) in Pithoragarh. The purpose of his visit was to evaluate the joint training efforts between the Nepali Army and the Indian Army. The exercise is designed to address counter-terrorism operations under the United Nations Chapter VII mandate, as well as Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) tasks, which are particularly relevant to the strategic security concerns of the India–Nepal region.

During his visit, the Army Commander engaged with the soldiers from both countries. He commended them for the high level of interoperability, professionalism, and seamless coordination they demonstrated. Additionally, he praised the contingent for effectively integrating advanced technologies into their training modules.

Lt Gen Sengupta urged the troops and the Exercise Control Team to undertake a thorough and realistic evaluation during the upcoming Command Post Exercise (CPX) and Field Training Validation Exercise (FTX). He emphasized the importance of mutual learning, exchanging best practices, and bolstering bilateral military cooperation.

The visit highlighted the commitment of both armies to reinforce regional security and maintain operational preparedness along the Himalayan frontier.
