Kumaon Regimental Centre at Ranikhet Celebrates Hindi Pakhwada 2026 with Competitions
The Kumaon Regimental Centre (KRC) at Ranikhet observed Hindi Pakhwada 2026 from September 7 to 19, using the fortnight-long programme to encourage the wider and progressive use of Hindi as an official language within the military establishment.
The celebration brought together personnel of all ranks, who took part in a range of competitions and activities designed to promote Hindi in official work as well as in creative expression. The Centre said the initiative was intended to build greater awareness of Rajbhasha Hindi and its role in day-to-day communication.
During the two weeks, participants competed in poster-making, Hindi typing, original poetry writing, essay writing and speech competitions. The events were meant not only to improve familiarity with the language but also to encourage personnel to use it more confidently in formal and informal settings.
According to the Centre, the response from participants was enthusiastic, with personnel showcasing their linguistic abilities, creativity and appreciation of Hindi across the different activities. The programme was framed as part of a broader effort to make Hindi a more active part of official functioning at the unit level.
Hindi Pakhwada 2026 concluded at the Kumaon Regimental Centre on September 19 with a closing ceremony, during which the winners of the various competitions were felicitated. The ceremony brought the fortnight’s activities to a close and recognised the personnel who performed well across the contests.
The celebrations reflected the Centre’s continuing effort to promote Hindi through participation, creativity and greater adoption of the language in routine official activities.
