The event was officially opened by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth. They were joined by the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, senior military officials, and leaders from the Indian defence industry.

During the inauguration, CM Hemant Soren described the event as a "historic step" towards integrating Jharkhand into the national defence ecosystem. He highlighted the state's abundant mineral resources and industrial capabilities, suggesting that this initiative would enhance defence readiness while providing new opportunities for industrial growth and youth employment.
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth highlighted that holding such a noteworthy event in Ranchi aligns with the government's vision of "Defence Manufacturing for Atmanirbhar Bharat." He stressed the Ministry of Defence's commitment to decentralising defence production and promoting participation from more states in the sector.

The exhibition showcases cutting-edge defence technologies, equipment, and innovations from leading Indian defence companies, research bodies, and startups. CM Soren toured the exhibition area, engaging with defence personnel and inspecting modern weapon systems, signifying the state's proactive involvement in the defence sector.
The symposium provides a platform for defence officials, policymakers, industrialists, and scholars to exchange ideas, establish partnerships, and explore avenues for technology transfer, joint ventures, and skill development.

With contributions from educational institutions and technical universities, the event offers students firsthand access to defence experts and state-of-the-art technologies. Organisers anticipate the symposium will create new prospects for innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment in Jharkhand, bolstering eastern India's role in national defence production.
