JAI Se Vijai Seminar 2026 Begins at Southern Command to Promote Jointness, Self-Reliance, and Innovation
The JAI Se Vijai Seminar 2026 began at the Southern Command as a professional gathering designed to further the Prime Minister's vision of JAI—encompassing Jointness, Aatmanirbharta, and Innovation. This seminar aims to establish a cohesive, technologically advanced, and future-ready force. Bringing together senior military officials, industry leaders, academia, and innovators, the event seeks to synchronize ideas and actions for multi-domain readiness within a security framework aligned with a Viksit Bharat.

Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, serving as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, delivered the opening speech. He emphasized the evolving nature of warfare, which necessitates integrated, innovative, and self-sufficient forces to maintain operational superiority and strategic significance. Lt Gen Seth stressed that “JAI is not just a framework, but a pathway to success—JAI se Vijai,” suggesting that Jointness, Aatmanirbharta, and Innovation should dictate how the Armed Forces train, equip, and deploy their capabilities to address current and future challenges.

In his keynote speech, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, elaborated on the three pillars of JAI as the route to VIJAI. He emphasized the importance of quickly absorbing new technologies and transforming institutions to ensure future force readiness. Gen Chauhan pointed out the necessity for systemic changes to incorporate emerging technologies and encourage joint capability development across different service branches.
The seminar's first day included the session titled “Atmashakti: Joint Synergy for Combat Strength & Self-Reliance,” where senior leaders and experts discussed building joint capabilities and fostering innovation-led combat strength. The event will continue on the second day with a focus on Aatmanirbharta through Indigenous Defence Ecosystems and Military–Civil Fusion, which aims to speed up defence innovation, integration, and nationwide capability development.
