ITBP Jawan from Himachal Pradesh Dies of Brain Stroke in Uttarakhand

Jol village in Himachal Pradesh's Jawali constituency is enveloped in mourning following the death of 35-year-old ITBP jawan Ankaj Kumar, who succumbed to a brain stroke while on duty in Almora, Uttarakhand. Ankaj Kumar was the son of Thakur Singh.

Ankaj Kumar, who served as a driver in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), experienced the sudden stroke on Wednesday. ITBP officials conveyed the tragic news to his family around 5 PM on June 25. The loss has profoundly impacted his family and the local community.

Recently returned to duty after a month-long leave, Ankaj Kumar was the son of a tailor, Thakur Singh, who runs a shop in Bhali. His mother, Kanta Devi, is a homemaker. He leaves behind his wife, Sapna Devi, and two sons, Aditya, aged 10, and Suryansh, aged 8.

Villagers and local officials are offering their condolences to the family, who are struggling with the unexpected loss. Ankaj Kumar's mortal remains are expected to arrive at his native village, Jol, by Friday morning, where he will be given a funeral with full state honors.

This incident underscores the often unrecognized sacrifices made by members of the Indian Armed Forces, even when they are not in combat zones.
