Induction of 12th Batch of Nursing Cadets into Military Nursing Service at Army Hospital (R&R)
The College of Nursing at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) recently hosted the Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the 12th batch of nursing cadets, officially welcoming 30 young individuals into the Military Nursing Service.
Held on January 16, 2026, this solemn event marked the commencement of the cadets' journey in military nursing, embodying dedication, compassion, and national service. The ceremony was honored by the presence of Lieutenant General Avinash Das, Commandant of Army Hospital (R&R), who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the ceremonial lamp as a symbol of knowledge, responsibility, and steadfast duty, encouraging the cadets to maintain high standards of professionalism and empathy throughout their careers.

Major General Rachel Thomas, Principal Matron, led the Nurses’ Pledge, emphasizing the ethical principles and values crucial to the nursing profession within the Armed Forces. This pledge affirmed their commitment to patient care, integrity, and prioritizing service over self.

During the event, outstanding cadets were recognized for their exceptional academic and professional achievements, encouraging the new batch to pursue excellence.
