Indonesian Army Visits India's CIJWS Vairengte for Military Exchange Program
An Indonesian Army delegation visited the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) in Vairengte from May 6 to 10, 2026. This visit was part of a continuous professional military exchange program between the two nations.
During their stay, the delegation was exposed to the school's specialized training methods. These included physical conditioning, tactical exercises, and operational training practices tailored for counter-insurgency and jungle warfare scenarios.

The officers received briefings on the training framework of CIJWS. This framework is crucial for preparing military personnel to face contemporary operational challenges, particularly in harsh terrains and high-threat conditions.

The visit served as a platform for exchanging professional experiences, operational insights, and best practices on counter-insurgency operations and combat training between the two sides.

This interaction underscored the strengthening defence cooperation and military-to-military engagement between India and Indonesia. It fostered mutual understanding, interoperability, and shared learning between the two friendly nations.
