Indian Navy's LAOM Kuldeep Diwach Honored with Full Military Rites in Jhunjhunu

Leading Air Ordnance Mechanic Kuldeep Diwach of the Indian Navy was honored with full military rites and laid to rest in his home village of Ghardu, located in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, on July 10, 2026. His funeral followed a tragic accident that claimed his life in Mumbai.

Serving with Air Squadron 330 at INS Shikra, Kuldeep suffered severe injuries on July 6 when a tree uprooted by a violent storm struck him as he rode his scooter to work. Despite receiving intensive medical care, he succumbed to his injuries on July 9.

His body was transported to his hometown by a special contingent from the Indian Navy. Prior to the funeral, a Tiranga Yatra procession was held from Surajgarh to Ghardu village, during which local residents, schoolchildren, ex-servicemen, and members of social organizations paid their respects to the fallen sailor.

The funeral was marked by full military honors, including a Guard of Honour from the Indian Navy. Kuldeep's elder brother, Pradeep, who serves in the Indian Air Force, performed the last rites by lighting the funeral pyre, accompanied by family, public representatives, and defense personnel.

Born on July 10, 1999, Kuldeep enlisted in the Indian Navy in 2018, making the date of his funeral significant as it marked both his birthday and the anniversary of his joining the service. He is survived by his mother, wife, an 18-month-old daughter, and his elder brother.

The nation bade a heartfelt farewell to the young sailor, commemorating his dedicated service and the ultimate sacrifice he made in the line of duty.
