Indian Navy Officers Indraneel Bhardwaj and Sarthak Chauhan Honoured at Thailand Naval Graduation Ceremony
Two Indian Navy officers have been recognised for academic excellence at a combined graduation ceremony in Bangkok, where the 58th Naval War College (NWC) Course and the 86th Naval Command and Staff Course (NCSC) concluded at the Naval Education Department in Thailand.
Captain Indraneel Bhardwaj, who completed the 58th Naval War College Course, received the award for Best Individual Research Paper in the Non-Royal Thai Navy category. Commander Sarthak Chauhan, who attended the 86th Naval Command and Staff Course, was honoured with two distinctions: Best in Staff Consideration and the Individual Research Paper award in the Non-Royal Thai Navy category.
The awards were presented by the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy during the graduation ceremony on September 18, 2026, recognising the officers’ performance in their respective professional military education programmes. The ceremony brought together participants from the two courses, which form part of advanced naval training in Thailand.
The recognition of Captain Bhardwaj and Commander Chauhan reflects their academic and professional performance during the programmes, which are designed for senior naval officers. Their participation also adds to the wider pattern of exchanges between the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy, helping strengthen professional interaction between the two maritime forces.
Such courses have broader value beyond individual awards, as they provide a forum for officers from both navies to engage with one another and contribute to ongoing maritime cooperation between India and Thailand.
