Indian Military Academy's Prestigious Passing Out Parade Held in Dehradun on December 13, 2025

Dehradun, December 13, 2025 – The Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun held its esteemed Passing Out Parade (POP) today at the historic Chetwode Drill Square, marking the completion of intense training for a new batch of officer cadets. This event signified the transition of these gentlemen cadets into commissioned officers, prepared to serve the nation with discipline and dedication.

General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff, acted as the Reviewing Officer and chief guest, inspecting the parade and addressing the newly graduated cadets. During his speech, he highlighted the significance of leadership, integrity, and commitment to national security in the face of a changing geopolitical environment.

More than 500 cadets took part in the parade, including officer cadets from 14 friendly foreign countries. After commissioning, these young officers will join the Indian Army and their respective national forces, contributing to enhanced defence cooperation. The event included flawless drill movements, coordinated marching, and traditional ceremonies, such as the symbolic "Antim Pag" (final step), where cadets bid farewell to their training by looking back at the academy before stepping forward as officers.

The parade displayed the transformation of cadets through comprehensive physical, tactical, and leadership training at the IMA, known as the "Temple of Martial Learning." Since its establishment in 1932, the academy has trained nearly 66,000 officers, including many from allied nations, maintaining a legacy of excellence.

Preparations for the event included the Commandant's Parade on December 11, which set high expectations for precision, and traffic diversions in Dehradun to accommodate attendees. The ceremony was attended by families, veterans, and dignitaries, evoking a deep sense of pride and emotion.
