In a significant achievement for the Indian Army, the 60 Parachute Field Hospital, part of the Shatrujeet Brigade, has been awarded the esteemed Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar 2024. This accolade recognizes their outstanding efforts during Operation Dost.

The award ceremony took place at the National Institute of Disaster Management in New Delhi, where Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia presented the honor.

After a catastrophic earthquake hit Türkiye in February 2023, the unit swiftly dispatched a 99-member medical team to the affected area as part of Operation Dost.

In Hatay, the team set up a 30-bed field hospital, providing essential medical care to over 3,500 people impacted by the earthquake, all while managing under severe humanitarian conditions.

This national award acknowledges the Indian Army’s expertise, quick response capabilities, and steadfast dedication to humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts internationally.

The recognition underscores India's expanding influence in global humanitarian initiatives and showcases the Armed Forces' ability to efficiently address international emergencies.
