Indian Army Unveils DIME Platform for Enhanced Military Logistics Management
The Indian Army has unveiled the Depot Integration Management Edition (DIME), a comprehensive digital platform aimed at providing near real-time visibility of logistics items from the unit level to Army Headquarters. This initiative represents a major advancement in the modernization of military logistics.
Jointly developed by the Indian Army and BISAG-N, DIME streamlines digital workflows across all depots and units, effectively replacing older systems with an integrated, data-centric approach. The platform offers commanders access to consolidated dashboards, automated alerts for exceptions, and predictive analytics for stock management, thereby facilitating proactive and informed logistics strategies.

Officials indicate that DIME will significantly enhance logistics operations by reducing paperwork by approximately 70% and shortening the logistics cycle time by nearly one-third. Additionally, it provides near real-time visibility of assets throughout the logistics framework. The automation introduced by the platform is anticipated to boost accuracy, responsiveness, and accountability at every level of the operation.
By enabling end-to-end digital tracking and analytics, DIME enhances commanders' abilities to forecast needs, manage inventories more effectively, and respond promptly to operational demands. This rollout is part of the Army's broader effort to integrate technology into its operations, thereby improving readiness and sustainment through more intelligent, efficient, and transparent logistics management.
The implementation of DIME highlights the Indian Army's dedication to utilizing indigenous digital solutions, aiming to develop a resilient, agile, and future-oriented logistics system capable of supporting operations across a variety of theatres.
