Indian Army Unveils Advanced Indigenous AI Solutions with Dual-Use Applications at India AI Summit
The Indian Army demonstrated a comprehensive array of indigenous artificial intelligence (AI) solutions at the India AI Summit, emphasizing its evolution into a data-driven, AI-enhanced force. This development aligns with India’s goal of achieving technological self-reliance and fortified digital capabilities.
During the summit, the Army showcased various AI platforms with significant dual-use potential, serving both defense operations and civilian purposes. These systems represent a clear move towards the integration of advanced technologies aimed at improving operational efficiency, governance support, and national resilience.
A prominent feature of the exhibition was the AI Examiner, an automated assessment and feedback system designed for education and training purposes. Additionally, SAM-UN was highlighted as a geospatial, AI-enabled situational awareness platform that aids in mission planning, disaster response, and smart command centers. The Army also presented EKAM (AI-as-a-Service), a secure, air-gapped indigenous AI cloud that ensures data sovereignty and protected processing.
The army's showcase included PRAKSHEPAN, an AI-driven climatology and disaster prediction system that provides early warnings for natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and avalanches. XFace, an AI-based facial recognition tool for security and identity verification, was also featured. Nabh Drishti, a mobile telemetry-based platform for real-time reporting and visualization, was among the innovations. Other solutions such as Driver Fatigue Detection, AI-in-a-Box for edge deployments, AI-enabled Vehicle Tracking Systems, and tools for Deepfake Detection and AI Cyber Security highlighted the Army’s focus on safety, logistics optimization, and the protection of vital digital infrastructure.
These initiatives collectively highlight the Indian Army’s commitment to building a secure, interconnected, and AI-enhanced ecosystem. This approach not only strengthens defense preparedness but also contributes significantly to disaster management, cybersecurity, and broader national development objectives.
