Indian Army Soldier Slips into River During Exercise in Rajouri; Search Operation Underway
A soldier from the Indian Army, identified as Sepoy Akshit Sharma, has gone missing during a military exercise in the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. An extensive search and rescue mission has been initiated following his disappearance.
Reports indicate that the incident happened when Sepoy Sharma allegedly slipped and fell into the Munawar Tawi river during the exercise. Although fellow soldiers at the scene immediately tried to rescue him, their efforts were unsuccessful.
Massive Search Operation Launched
The Army has commenced a focused search and rescue operation in the river and its surrounding areas to locate the missing soldier. Despite the challenging terrain and water conditions, rescue teams are continuing their efforts.
According to officials, troops and local rescue teams are actively searching the area with the aim of finding the soldier as soon as possible.
Soldier with Seven Years of Service
Sepoy Akshit Sharma is reported to have been serving in the Indian Army for approximately seven years. The incident took place during routine training exercises conducted by Army units in the region.
