To qualify for JAG entry, candidates must hold an LLB degree (either a three-year or five-year course) with a minimum mark of 55%. They must also be eligible for registration with the Bar Council of India or a State Bar Council. Applicants should be between 21 and 27 years old at the time of application. Selection is based on performance in the SSB Interview, followed by a medical examination.

The release of the JAG 35 merit list represents a significant milestone for aspiring legal officers in the Indian Army. Those selected will undergo comprehensive training at OTA Chennai, preparing them for roles in military law. With fierce competition and limited spots, gaining a position in the JAG branch is considered a highly prestigious accomplishment.
