Indian Army Intensifies Flood Relief in Border Regions
The Western Command of the Indian Army has intensified its extensive relief operations in flood-affected areas along the border, reinforcing its vital role in providing assistance during natural disasters.
Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, made a visit to these regions to personally oversee the rescue efforts and evaluate the current situation. His presence underscored the Army's dedication to aiding communities severely impacted by the heavy monsoon rains this year, which experts attribute to the effects of climate change.
Throughout his visit, General Katiyar engaged with local residents, National Disaster Response Force teams, Border Security Force members, police, and civil administration officials. He commended the relentless efforts of the Army troops, who have been conducting continuous rescue operations in collaboration with local authorities.
General Katiyar assured the affected populace that the Army would persist in providing comprehensive support until conditions return to normal. He praised the soldiers for their commitment, stating that their actions embody the Army’s principle of prioritizing the nation in every circumstance.
