Indian Army Holds Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally in Nashik for Veterans, Veer Naris
Nashik, October 25, 2026: The Indian Army held a Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally at the Artillery Centre in Nashik, Maharashtra, under the aegis of Southern Command, bringing veterans, Veer Naris and their families together for welfare and grievance-related support.
The rally covered ex-servicemen and dependents from Nashik, Dhule and Nandurbar districts. It was designed as a single-window outreach effort to help former personnel and their families resolve pension-related concerns, administrative grievances, healthcare needs and other welfare issues without having to visit multiple offices.
One of the main services offered at the event was pension and grievance redressal support. Veterans and family members were able to seek guidance on pension matters and raise issues requiring administrative attention. The Army also arranged dedicated assistance for Aadhaar-related services and for the System for Pension Administration (Raksha), or SPARSH, the digital pension management system used for defence pensioners.

The SPARSH help desk was meant to assist beneficiaries with digital pension services, an area that can be difficult for some veterans to navigate. The outreach was particularly relevant for older pensioners who may need help accessing online systems and resolving technical issues linked to pension administration.

As part of the programme, a medical camp was also organised to provide on-the-spot healthcare assistance to participating veterans, Veer Naris and eligible family members. The Army’s medical outreach reflected an effort to make healthcare access easier for former service personnel and their dependents, particularly elderly veterans and those requiring immediate medical attention.
The presence of Veer Naris, widows of deceased military personnel, was a notable part of the rally and highlighted the Army’s focus on extending welfare support beyond serving and retired soldiers to the families of those who died in service of the nation.

By bringing together welfare, medical and administrative services at one venue, the rally gave veterans, their families and support staff an opportunity for direct interaction. Such events also help sustain contact between the serving Army and former soldiers after retirement, while ensuring that welfare concerns can be addressed in a more accessible setting.
The Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally in Nashik was part of the Indian Army’s continuing outreach to strengthen veteran welfare mechanisms and provide practical support to military families across the region. It also reflected Southern Command’s effort to honour the service and sacrifices of ex-servicemen while keeping veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents connected to the Army’s welfare network.
