Indian Army Enhances Veteran Healthcare with Launch of ECHS Medical Mobile Unit in Madhya Pradesh
The Indian Army has enhanced healthcare access for its veterans through the introduction of a Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), targeting the provision of quality medical services in the remote areas of Madhya Pradesh.
The launch of the Medical Mobile Unit was officiated by Major General Sanjay Gautam, the Chief of Staff at Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area, from the Station Cell in Jabalpur. The mobile clinic initiated its first operational service in Narsinghpur following successful trial operations in Seoni and Chhindwara.

Functioning as a 'Clinic on Wheels', the MMU is set to deliver primary healthcare, essential medications, and scheduled outreach programs to over 40,000 ECHS beneficiaries spread across 10 remote districts in the state. Equipped with a doctor and a nursing assistant, the unit aims to provide timely and accessible medical care for ex-servicemen and their families.

This initiative underscores the Indian Army's ongoing dedication to veteran welfare by broadening healthcare accessibility in underserved areas, ensuring that those who have served the nation continue to receive essential medical support.
