Indian Army Corps of Signals Team Summits Three 6,000m+ Peaks in Ladakh

The Indian Army’s Corps of Signals Mountaineering Team has completed a demanding high-altitude expedition in Ladakh, scaling three peaks above 6,000 metres in a single mission and closing the effort with the ascent of Mt Chamser Kangri, which stands at 6,622 metres.

The expedition, carried out under the theme “Dreams of Valour – Three Peaks, One Mission, Infinite Resolve,” brought together a sequence of climbs in one of India’s most challenging mountain regions. The final summit of Mt Chamser Kangri in August 2026 marked the completion of the team’s three-peak objective.

Before taking on Chamser Kangri, the mountaineers had already successfully climbed Mt Kiagar Ri, at 6,100 metres, and Mt Mentok Kangri, at 6,250 metres, both earlier in August. Those ascents set the stage for the more demanding final push to the higher summit.

Climbing at elevations above 6,000 metres places mountaineers in an environment defined by low oxygen levels, rugged terrain and quickly shifting weather. Successfully completing all three ascents required not only physical endurance, but also technical skill, careful route planning and the ability to remain effective under severe high-altitude conditions.

The mission also reflected a broader aspect of the Indian Army’s training culture, which places value on adventure, resilience and the ability to operate in extreme environments. For the Corps of Signals team, the expedition became a demonstration of teamwork as much as individual endurance.

By summiting Mt Kiagar Ri, Mt Mentok Kangri and Mt Chamser Kangri in one campaign, the team completed a technically and physically challenging undertaking in Ladakh’s high-altitude terrain. The result aligned closely with the expedition’s motto: three peaks, one mission and infinite resolve.

Proud of Indian Army …this mountaineering achievement reflects the ability of Indian army in to operate in High altitude with extreme weather conditions like laddakh and jammu kashmir where constant terror infiltrations are being neutralized while sacrificing lives to safeguarding national security….
And such people talk about tax…must have shame on them selves… know nothing about the lifestyle and sacrifice of soldiers for the nation
