Indian Army Celebrates 100th Birthday of Lt Col Prem Prakash Talwar with High Honours

The Indian Army recently celebrated the 100th birthday of one of its most esteemed veterans, Lieutenant Colonel Prem Prakash Talwar (Retd). The milestone was marked by heartfelt accolades from Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, the Army Commander of the Southern Command, as well as from all ranks within the Southern Command, highlighting a life marked by service, honor, and patriotism.

Lt Col Prem Prakash Talwar was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in May 1950 and served with distinction during a pivotal era in India's military history. His career, spanning 27 years, was characterized by his adherence to the highest standards of the Indian Army, culminating in his retirement in May 1977. His enduring commitment and professionalism continue to serve as an inspiration for successive generations of soldiers.

To honor his extraordinary life, a gathering of current and former officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and Other Ranks from the Regiment of Artillery came together to celebrate the centenarian's life and service. This event underscored the profound respect and lasting bonds within the Artillery fraternity, paying homage to one of its most senior and esteemed members.

In a formal gesture on behalf of the Director General Regiment of Artillery and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Agnibaaz Division, Lt Col Talwar was acknowledged for his illustrious military career and significant contributions to the Regiment and the Indian Army.
